Status Report

Last week we worked night and day to finish the release version of Idonext Mobile, aka Idonext for iPhone. At Friday we finally sent it to Apple for review and expect it to be online at the App Store later this or next week. In the meantime, we already worked on the next Idonext Mobile version which is now far better than the release version. It’s too bad that Apple has this review period delay. But anyway, I will proudly announce once the app becomes available for download.

We also improved the performance of the backend (the service itself) which makes the usage even more convenient. Since days, I have a new design for the website in mind (I know, it’s already new) and we are also planning to port Idonext Mobile to more devices. Idonext Mobile will introduce a slightly new logo and color scheme, so don’t be surprised :-)

Revised Plans

With the upcoming iPhone app, we updated and rethought our plans. The plans are now devided by the offering of collaboration. And vital points are now available in every plan. For example, we learned while beta-testing the iPhone app how essential it is. So we decided to give the iPhone app for free to all plans.

And since the collaboration features are so mighty and unique, we decided to exclusively reserve them for our paid plans. But the paid plans offer even more cool stuff, like SSL and file-sharing and an unlimited amount of tasks and are really worth a try.

100% Uptime in May

Pingdom_may
As wise men say: celebrate small victories whenever you can. So we use today’s e-mail by web-monitoring service Pingdom for a small celebration: idonext.com as service and website was up every minute of the month of May! And the global average response time were very good 246 ms.

Folks who architect the web, like programmers of sys admins, know how hard it is to keep a fast growing web service reliably running even under heavy load. So, grab your party hats and keep on moving! ...and better keep the hats close to you, since we will soon have something really big to celebrate.
